Directly from DESE: (English Language Arts) Here are steps that districts can begin taking now regarding the implementation of the CCSS....Teach “close” reading. “Close” reading means reading for the purpose of uncovering layers of meaning and allowing for deep comprehension. How can we convince them that just as importantly, we need to teach "image" reading for the same purpose?
